A while back, I predicted that Moondrop would remain top of the brand rankings for a while, and that was before I knew there was a new model coming out. Well the Variations is now out, and its response is live on Squiglink. Act surprised when we get to the top models list…
New measurements added to Squiglink this week:
The weekly rankings
Last week, Moondrop was at the top, with about a 25% lead over Blon at #2. But the popularity of Variations grew that lead enormously, with Moondrop more than doubling the #2 this week, Ikko.
In this view by models, however, you see that it’s not just Variations keeping Moondrop on top. Sure, it’s the most popular model of the week, but only by a bit. The the strength of Moondrop’s lineup and continues to keep them top of mindshare for the audio community.
Some shifting in popularity of price ranges week over week, with the sub-$100 zones being compressed to just 1/3 of the attention. I’ve noticed the price range of popular IEMs steadily increasing over the past two years. I expect the $300-700 range to become more common in the near future.
Zone 1: $0 - 25
Zone 2: $26 - 50
Zone 3: $51 - 100
Zone 4: $101 - 150
Zone 5: $151 - 200
Zone 6: $201 - 350
Zone 7: $351 - 600
Zone 8: $601 - 1,000
Zone 9: $1,001 - 2,000
Zone 10: Over $2,000
Related to price shops and shopping preferences…
This week, I launched the beta for Squiglist, a tool to help prospective IEM shoppers narrow down their choices. With the help and feedback of the Super* Review Discord community, filtering options have been added and improved.
The Squiglist is still in beta, so some functionality may not be optimal yet, and some rankings and classifications may change.
And the week’s most-shared squig is…
